For Patients

How it Works

What We Do:
•We can safely help dental patients with their fear of dental procedures and with any discomfort during the procedure.
•Anesthesiologists are physicians with many different duties, but most of what an anesthesiologist does is to make surgical or dental procedures safer and easier by eliminating pain and fear in their patients

•The systems we have in place will effectively manage all aspects of your care

We will:
•Coordinate scheduling with your dentist or surgeon.
•Obtain and review your entire medical history.
•Give clear guidelines for the day before your procedure, the day of your procedure and for the next few days following your procedure.
•Provide hospital quality care in a non-hospital environment.
•Follow up with you after your procedure.
•Assist you in getting reimbursed by your insurance.

 How it all works:
•After you are examined by your dentist or surgeon and decide together that your procedure will proceed more smoothly with our care, either you or your provider will contact our office to begin our process of managing your anesthesia needs.
•Our office will contact you to coordinate scheduling and to collect all relevant medical history.
•Techniques, risks vs rewards and billing will be explained
•Preoperative instructions will be given.
•On the day of your procedure you will be met by the anesthesiologist at your dentist or surgeon’s office. The medical history will be reviewed with you and a final physical exam will be performed to insure that there are no new illnesses that would add risk to you during the procedure.
•Informed consent will also be reviewed at this time and signed. This entire process takes only a few minutes.
•When the procedure begins, the anesthesiologist will place an IV catheter. With our techniques and experience, this is an extremely easy process for the patient.
•Standard monitors will be placed (EKG, blood pressure, etc.).
•The anesthetic will begin with medications in the IV line and the next thing you will remember is waking up with the procedure completed.
•Just minutes after waking, you will be ready to safely go home with your friend or family member.
•You will have written instructions to take with you regarding restarting eating and drinking and the management of any postoperative discomfort.
•You will receive a follow up call regarding how you are feeling and your level of satisfaction with your anesthetic care.
